How to play MusicMaze
Draw one connected path of hexes from the left gate to the right gate. Your score is the sum of the numbers on every hex in that path. Find the path with the lowest possible total.
Paint your path
- Click a hex to select or deselect it.
- Click and drag across hexes to paint a streak. The first hex sets the stroke's mode: start on an empty hex to paint, start on a selected hex to erase.
- On a phone or tablet, drag with your finger the same way. If the board is wider than the screen, pan with a two-finger drag. Scroll below the board for full-width Settings; the action bar stays at the bottom of the board.
- Your path must touch the left edge and the right edge, and every selected hex must connect to the rest in one piece—no gaps or floating islands.
Check your answer
- Press Check path (below the board) when you think you are done.
- Perfect — your total matches the solver’s best result. You will hear a short celebration.
- Too high — the message tells you how many points above optimal you are (for example, “too high by 4”). Keep refining.
- Not a valid bridge — the path does not reach both gates or is not fully connected. Fix the gaps and try again.
Toolbar buttons
- Clear — remove every selected hex and start the path over.
- New puzzle — generate a fresh board (uses the seed in Settings unless you randomize it).
- Undo / Redo — step backward or forward through your paint changes.
- Help — open this guide again.
Settings panel (⚙)
- Seed — type any text to get the same puzzle again later. Use the dice button for a random seed.
- Rows / Columns / Highest number — resize the board or raise the top digit (classic Maze 8 uses 1–8).
- Hint — highlights one correct hex from the optimal route.
- Reveal — overlays the full lowest-sum solution in gold.

Tip: lower numbers are not always on the best route—the solver weighs the whole path. Use Check path often while you experiment. On iPhone/iPad, the hardware silent switch mutes game audio—flip it off if you hear nothing.
